Bull power: Astrics JJ son joins the team

Saturday’s Society sale at Shrewsbury saw an old favourite of the Norbreck team hit the headlines as Astrics JJ sired the top priced bull, Graymar Navigator at 6400gns.

Alongside that one, JJ also sired another in the form of Hopkins Otto, at 4700gns. Sadly we no longer have straws of JJ available, but we’re delighted to announce we’ve acquired semen from a son of his, Astrics Oscar (see below).

Oscar is out of Astrics Gem (photographed below), a Hazelwood Freshman daughter that has bred well for Richard Ashton before being sold to Rhys Millichap for his Rhymil herd where she has since produced a 4200gns calf at a Shrewsbury sale, as well as a private sale of the bull calf, Rhymil Paparazzi.

Oscar is a black and white bull, characterised by similar markings to his dam and will no doubt prove himself to be a great addition to the line up, just as his sire was. Take a look at his full profile here.
