DAIRY FAMILIES
Norbreck Genetics’ home farm houses dairy cattle. We have invested heavily in high genetic merit families that are noted for high genomic indexes, functional type and excellent health, fertility and milk components. We currently have more than 10 heifers in the TOP 200 PLI heifers in the UK with more due to be born in the Summer of 2020.
Elsa Family
RR Mogul Emily EX90 EX92-MS 5YR
One of the greatest Mogul daughters, RR Mogul Emily VG-87-DE 2yr is the newest addition in the herd of Veenhuizer Holsteins, which has her in combined ownership with Jos Tijhuis.
Emily is by the German sire Mountfield SSI Mogul and sold for €12,000 in the DHV Elite Sale in 2015. She is the number one type cow in Germany with an RZE of 148 and almost has three points in her PTAT American index.
She was placed second at the Dutch National NRM Show in 2017 and second place at Wintershow Pesse in 2019.
She originates from Broeks MBM Elsa, dam of the highly successful Flevo Genetics Snowman.
Two heifers have since been imported from Holland to compliment this family on home soil, Norbreck Veenhuizer JT Emily Ann and Norbreck Veenhuizer JT Elsie, both of which are by Bacon-Hill Pety Modesty.
CARLINA FAMILY
Arnot Carlina 171(Ex91) dam of Arnot Carlina 262
Arnot Carlina 262 (GP83) was purchased at the Arnot dispersal sale. She has currently just started her third lactation and is giving 53kg/day.
The Carlina family is renowned in the UK for producing long life cows with great classifications and high yields and this line goes back to the Arnot Carlina 130.

BOGHILL JACEY CRAVE A (VG87 – 2 yr)
Boghill Alltime JA Crave (GP84) was an investment made from Northern Ireland.
This special family originates from the Larcrest Cosmopolitan (VG87) cow and the heifer we purchased is out of Boghill Jacey Crave A (VG88)
We now have daughters in our herd by Denovo Atrium and De-Su Kenobi.

Shavington Jedi Real Pleasure
This family started with the purchase of Shavington Jedi Real Pleasure, purchased as a high GTPI / PLI female in 2017. She is by the famous SSI Montross Jedi. Daughters are now in the herd by Silverridge V Imax , SSI Modesty Pinnacle and Cal-Roy-Al Yoda.

Dam to Norbreck Drouner K & L SC Classy 1485 (imported from Netherlands)
We are heavily invested in this World leading family.
We invested in this world leading family by securing KL-SV Classy from the Drouner herd.
Now milking in the herd is Norbreck Drouner K & L SC Classy 1485, a stunning daughter of Endco Superhero and she completed her first lactation at 10767kg with 3.89% Fat and 3.20% Protein.
Juror Faith Family
Bouw Snowman Carry (VG85)
Bouw Beacon Cathy was purchased alongside Bouw Snowman Carry (VG 85) to really stamp the Juror Faith family into the heart of the Norbreck herd. Carry has given 12,972kg in her last lactation at 5.43% fat and 3.09% protein.
She has also produced 60 grade A embryos in three flushes proving her worth as an incredibly fertile line in the herd and to date has produced a total of 18 daughters. The other very noticeable trait in this family is the sheer power and strength to live in a large herd environment.
Exciting daughters coming through in the herd currently are by De-Su Kenobi, Leaninghouse Helix and SSI Montross Jedi.

Maria Family
Kingtonmagna Supersire Marie 49 (EX90)
This family started with the purchase of Denmire Pepper Maria (GP83) from the Black & White sale as a calf from the Dennison family for 4000gns. She has bred prolifically in the herd with Norbreck Hurricane Maria (GP84) giving 10,824kg in her first lactation at 4.30% Fat and 3.21% Protein, as well as producing 12 grade A embryos to Denovo Atrium.
The HIGH PLI daughter of Hurricane Maria, Norbreck Yoda Maria, by Cal-Roy-Al Yoda is one of the highest PLI Holstein heifers in the UK at £775 PLI.
Yoda Maria has been on an extensive IVF programme and we expect nine IVF calves to be born this summer to Hulstein Partytime and Alta Cabot. This will be a family to watch in 2020 and 2021.

A longstanding top TPI cow, Rubicon Eternity is dam of numerous mating sires and nominated Global Cow of the Year.
She is the dam of Sandy Valley Eternitys Echo, a heifer we own which is showing great promise.

Ammon Peachey Shauna ET
This family originates from Miresdale Class Darling who was purchased as a daughter out of the famous Seagull-Bay Snow Darling (VG88) cow.
The best in the herd by her is Norbreck Cracking Darling (VG86), a high producing heifer sired by Sandy-Valley Crackshot and is in line to produce 11,649 kg at 3.73% Fat and 3.14% Protein.
Bubble Family
Sweetings Euphoric Bubble (GP83
The Bubble family started with Linlake Shottle Bubble (EX90 x3) and a daughter, Sweetings Euphoric Bubble was purchased at the Black & White Sale for a very special charity, when she was kindly donated by John Lawson and Anthony Jackson.
The raffle was in memory of Louise Hartley, a Farmers Guardian reporter and past member of the Lancashire Holstein Young Breeders Club, who sadly lost her brave battle with ovarian cancer earlier that year. The money from this heifer went to the Louise Hartley Memorial Fund to support young people in agriculture. The winning ticket for this heifer was actually won by Frank Mattinson from the Troutbeck herd, Wigton, Cumbria and he generously requested the heifer to be auctioned, with all the proceeds awarded to the fund. She consequently joined the herd at 2800gns. Bubble has since given 14,921kg at 3.61% Fat and 3.07% Protein.
SHARE
