It was the Beef Expo event that really brought this story to light.
Many beef stockmen in the south of England have been driving past what one Limousin breeder called "the best field of beef youngstock I have ever seen."
The field of pure Belgian Blue younsgtock, all by Dafyd D'Ochain, has attracted the attendtion of The Farmers Weekly who interviewed Michelle Wilde in the run up to her sale (see FW 21/7/06)
Michelle Wildes herd has an impressive 85% natural calving rate - a testiment to her breeding criteria. Measuring peivic size and length of hip to hook bones has proved successful in establishing an easy calving pedigree Belgian Blue herd.
Dafyd D'Ochain used to maintain easy calving status
"Most of my recipient cows have calved embryo's from my best lines - bred to Dafyd D'Ochain, a powerful, extremely muscled black and white bull, passing on width, good length of plate and small stifle bone in his progeny" Michelle Wilde.
