Dafydd D'Ochain sons take Male Championship

and top price at Lockerbie

  

The October British Blue sale was certainly unique, with cattle in Carlisle and Lockerbie auctions and keen British Blue breeders travelling too and fro each day.

Lockerby Champion by Dafydd D'Ochain

Leading the Championship was a strong British Blue bull from Andrew Craig, Woodview Charlie stood first in his class, with second, third and fouth place also going to Dafydd D'Ochain sons. Charlie went on to take Championship honours.

In the second bull class it was first place for Lakeview Barrichello from Gary Beacom, who travelled from Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Lakeview Barrichello is a November 2006 son of Dafydd D’Ochain and out of Knockagh Unanimous.  He was successfully bought for 6,000gns by Graham Morgan, Cider Mill, Tillington, Herefordshire to join his Almeley herd.

 Empire bull calves do well at Carlisle for the Gorst family

The end of the British Blue sale at Carlisle saw four yong Empire calves sold with recipients. These calves were long and showed great promise for the future. 4 calves with recipients averaged 2,325 gns
