Solway View Drambuie ET takes first prize

Congrations all round for the winners at the Calf Show. Dafydd D'Ochain progeny won two clases and Empire D'Ochain progeny also won two classes. There was a second prize too for a young Fanion Du Ronchy bull from R Seed & Son. Blue Stone Union Jack also proved a winner for the Hartley family taking first and second prize in the same class.
The first class was won by A J & D A Wilkinson wiht their Dafydd D'Ochain son Springfield Dusty ET, this black bull went on to take Reserve Male Champion.
Class 3 was won by Parsonage Drew ET, a stylish and well muscled Empire D'Ochain son from R Seed & Son. He went on to join Kevin Watrets Empire daughter, taking the progeny group honours for Empire D'Ochain. It was a double in this class for the Seed family - their Fanion Du Ronchy son Parsonage Desperate Dan ET stood in second place.

The first of the heifer classes was won by a Dafydd daughter - this time from A & C S Comrie with Stonebyres Davina ET.

The second class of heifers was led by Kevin Watret's Empire D'Ochain daughter out of his tremendous show winning cow Broomfield Vivien. This stylish young heifer is already following in her mothers footsteps.

Class five was another double win - this time for The Hartley family and thier Blue Stone Union Jack daughters. Pendle Dazzle and Pendle Dotty took first and second place in this class with two well matched daughters.Pendle Dazzle is 4th generation naturally born she was Reserve Female at Agri Expo at Carlisle in October and went on to take Reserve Female Champion honours here. These heifers are third and fourth generation naturally born and for sale at Carlisle in May.

It was great to see the progeny of this exciting bull showing so well in the ring. With Empire calves winning in the male and female classes, it was good to see the Solway View and Parsonage herds coming togeher to win the progeny class. It was also nice to see their children taking the lead in the ring!
